Noorderlicht NDSM cares about a privacy-friendly website. We use as few cookies as possible and do not use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. For visitors who are simply browsing, we set no cookies at all by default.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device when you visit it. A website may also use similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser. We refer to all of these simply as "cookies" below. Some cookies are necessary for a feature to work (functional cookies); others are used to track visitors — we do not use that latter kind.
Which cookies we use
Our website largely works without cookies. We place only functional cookies, and only when you use a feature that requires them:
- Shopping cart — if you use our webshop, we store a token to remember the contents of your cart. Retention: 30 days.
- Login session — if you create an account or log in, we store a session cookie so you stay signed in. Retention: 7 days.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social-media trackers. We self-host our fonts (Google Fonts), so no data is sent to Google for them.
The current, automatically updated list of cookies and technologies that may appear on this website is shown below:
Functional
| Name | Provider | Domain | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __sak | Google Maps | www.google.comThird-party | Google Maps embed: stores a transient session key for the interactive map on the contact page. | session |
Map on the contact page (Google Maps)
On our contact page we show our location using a Google Maps map. By default this map is blocked: instead of the map you first see a preview with a "load map" button. Only when you click that button yourself does the map load. At that moment Google places its own cookies and receives your IP address. This therefore only happens on your initiative. If you do not click, nothing is shared with Google.
Manage your choices
Because we only set functional cookies by default, you usually don't need to do anything. If you'd like to review or adjust your preferences, you can do so here:
Manage cookie preferences
You can also always manage or delete cookies yourself through your browser settings.
